Behind The Lens

Up until 2024, I played college basketball, most recently at Florida A&M University &  during my time there I was enrolled in a photography class as an elective. As the semester progressed, I discovered I had a unique eye for capturing content. With limited resources—primarily my iPhone 15—I created visually striking work that exceeded my expectations. Inspired by my newfound talent, I decided to launch an Instagram page dedicated solely to my creations.

One evening, after basketball practice, I sat in my apartment brainstorming a name that would reflect my identity, aspirations, and originality. After much thought, the word “dime” came to mind. In basketball, a “dime” is a perfect pass that demonstrates excellent vision. This resonated deeply with my background as a basketball player and sparked the foundation of my brand.

Next, I sought a word that would represent my creativity and ambition. I stumbled upon “visionary,” which means “thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom” or “a person with original ideas about what the future could be.” It perfectly captured everything I wanted to embody. The name Dime Visionary was born, symbolizing precision, creativity, and foresight.

Midway through the basketball season, a significant injury forced me to step away from the game. While this was a challenging time, it gave me the opportunity to focus on content creation. For my birthday, I received my first camera, which became the catalyst for capturing incredible people and moments.
